Draexlmaier Implements MatrixOne Technology for Product Data Management; MatrixOne's eMatrix to Improve Product Evolution Process and Increase Data Transparency
CHELMSFORD, Mass.--June 4, 2001--MatrixOne, Inc. , the first in Intelligent Collaborative Commerce(TM), today announced that the German tier-one automotive supplier Draexlmaier GmbH will use the MatrixOne(R) eMatrix(TM) business collaboration platform to develop a product data management project to optimize the product evolution process and increase data transparency. The goal is to improve communications among Draexlmaier's 23,000 employees in 20 countries worldwide and its key strategic suppliers.Draexlmaier, with customers including BMW, Daimler Chrysler and VW/Audi, is a one-source supplier, from development service to construction of prototypes and tools to on-time delivery of components for series production. eMatrix will be implemented to assist in the product development process by providing a framework for business process modeling, reorganization, simplification of operational sequences, reduction of interfaces, collaboration, change management and complete digital description of all product data. It will also improve data transparency worldwide at all Draexlmaier locations by providing access for everyone to all data (including roles and rights), avoiding redundancy and adding traceability.
The comprehensive solution will be based on MatrixOne's Value Chain Portfolio(TM), including Team Central, an application that allows for the establishment of collaborative virtual workspaces for global project teams operating in private and public net markets.
