NHRA: Jeg's cars turn focus to next race

In the opening round Troy Coughlin faced off against WJ. The starting line advantage went to WJ by .040 seconds (.438 to .478). The two battled side-by-side. The win light came on for WJ by .0235 seconds on a holeshot. Troy ran an impressive 6.849 at 200.41 mph.

"The guys did a great job this weekend. I had my best qualifying position of the season so far and the car was consistent right out of the trailer," said Troy

Jeg lined up next to Mark Pawuk in round one. The Jeg's Mail Order Chevy Cavalier grabbed the starting line advantage and never looked back. He ran a slower 6.883 at 199.46 mph and took the win light by .0192 seconds at the stripe.

"It is always nice to get past the first round. The Jeg's machine never left the center of the groove. The run felt a lot better then the 6.88 that showed up on the board," explained Jeg.

In the second round Jeg went head-to-head with WJ. The match up put a Chevrolet Cavalier against a Pontiac Grand Am. Both drivers waited with their pre stage lights on and took their time turning the second stage light on.

The reaction time advantage went to the Jeg's machine by .019 seconds (.443 to .462). The two cars were side-by-side from start to finish. WJ turned on the win light by .0136 seconds. Jeg ran a 6.865 at 200.05 mph.

"We made a lot of changes going into the second round. The car responded a little better we were just a little shy on the big end. Everything will head back to the shop and will we turn our focus to the next race," said Jeg.
