LEBANON VALLEY SUCCUMBS TO MOTHER NATURE AGAIN

JUNE 2, 2001
WEST LEBANON, NY- There was thunder and lightning in the Valley Saturday 
night, but unfortunately it came from the skies and not the racetrack.  The 
Pro Stock feature was on the track when the rains came halting their feature 
at lap four. Danny Sanchez will be shown as the leader when the green flag 
resumes next week. KEYBANK and JD HANDLING HEAVY HAULER brought us this 
rain-shortened night of action. 
During the course of the program Lebanon Valley honored the winner of the 
first race ever run at Lebanon Valley. Bill Therrien made the history books 
on June 28th, 1953 as the first winner in Valley history.
    The Pure Stocks were able to get three of their four scheduled features 
in before the rains came. John Denue was the winner of the Pure Stock "A" 
main.  Chrissy Hilt captured the victory in the Pure Stock "B" main becoming 
only the second woman to win a feature event at Lebanon Valley. Judy 
Schneider was the first to do so, winning a Rookie Street Stock feature. Ron 
Jacobsen took home top honors in the Pure Stock "C" feature. The Pure Stock 
"D" feature fell victim to the weather as well. Dave Colwell won the rookie 
feature.
    Paul LaRochelle and Rob Yetman won the pro street heats. Jeff Cassidy, 
Jeff Carr, Sparky Lowe and Danny Watson won the sportsman heat races. Dickie 
Larkin, J.R. Heffner and Rob Pitcher won the modified heat races.
    TREMONT LUMBER and ZAPPALA BLOCK will bring us the very full card of 
racing next Saturday night. Double features will be on tap for the Modifieds, 
with the Sportsman and Pro Stocks being completed in two weeks.
