FANUC Robotics features its new ARC Mate 100i MODEL B in an arc welding
application on a tubular part. This application includes the debut of the new
i Pendant, FANUC Robotics' color graphic user interface device that includes
an integrated Internet web browser and ARCworks PRO software package.
ARC Mate 100i MODEL B
The new ARC Mate 100i MODEL B, the latest generation arc welding robot,
has a compact design with improved motion range and speed. The compact yet
flexible design simplifies installation, maximizes reach capability within
confined areas and enables high-density installation of robots and
peripherals.
The six-axis ARC Mate 100i MODEL B with a payload capacity of 6kg is
exclusively designed for arc welding and cutting applications. It sports a
compact wrist for easy reach. The R-J3i MODEL B Controller and easy-to-use
ArcTool software, standard with the ARC Mate series of robots, provide
reliable performance with high productivity.
The motion envelope of the arm includes that of the previous model and has
8% larger horizontal stroke. This large motion envelope enables the robot to
weld larger parts, such as frames of automobiles, trucks and construction
machines. The wrist size is also 19% smaller, enabling the robot to enter
into smaller openings in parts and eases tooling design. The robot joint
speed is significantly faster, making the cycle time shorter.
The ARC Mate 100i MODEL B also features the highest motion speeds in class
and the best in class reach versus stroke ratio.
ARCworks PRO
The demonstration also features ARCworks PRO, a FANUC Robotics software
package that acts as a production supervisor to maintain the highest level of
throughput and quality from an arc welding system. It is designed to increase
arc welding system productivity by providing cell level monitoring,
diagnostics and reporting.
Arc Data Monitor graphing utility provides a simple user interface to show
actual feedback from the weld. The distance along the weld is also recorded
enabling the user to pinpoint problem areas within the weld. Configurable
views of these signals allow fast analysis of the welding conditions for
debugging and improving performance.
Arc Production Monitor graphing utility highlights problem welds that are
affecting quality and uptime. Comparisons of the production data can be made
between different robot, welds, shifts or days. Trends in weld defects can be
identified and resolved before impacting production.
Workcell monitor provides a real-time overview of the system status to
indicate whether equipment is ready, running or in alarm. Production
reporting allows the user to plot data charts to locate potential production
problems and identify appropriate corrective action. Alarm logging allows
queries of past alarms to show patterns and locate causes of downtime.
