FANUC Robotics Introduces New P-200E Paint Robot at Finishing 2001

ROSEMONT, Ill., June 1 FANUC Robotics North America, Inc.,
the robotic paint finishing industry leader, is introducing its new P-200E
paint robot in Booth #515 at Finishing 2001 at the Donald E. Stephens
Convention Center, Rosemont (Chicago), Ill., from June 5 to 7.

The P-200E, a six-axis, electric servo-driven paint robot, is an enhanced
version of the industry leading P-200 paint robot. Removable arm cover and
enhanced color valve access provides simplified maintenance for color valves,
gear pumps, regulators and other process equipment.
The color valves are also repackaged for improved access and hose fitting
reliability. Options for either an "in-arm" gear pump or an "in-arm"
flowmeter provide fluid delivery flexibility with minimized color change time
and material waste.
The P-200E System is suited for a variety of industries and applications,
including appliance, automotive components, fascia, fiberglass chop/gel
coating, automotive topcoat and watercraft manufacturing. It is easy to
maintain and cuts production costs and cycle times by delivering fast
acceleration and high-speed operation.
"The P-200E easily handles tough applications including interior and
exterior cut-ins and fascia painting," said John Coyne, program manager, FANUC
Robotics. "Paint waste, color change time and cycle time are reduced by
integrating the color changer and flowmeter or gear pump close to the
applicator. Access to these application components is simple, due to a
removable process equipment access cover."
The P-200E is available with the following mounting configurations:
pedestal, clean wall rail and a new modular in-booth rail.
The P-200E's extremely large work envelope increases booth design
flexibility by both effectively painting hood and deck interiors from one side
of the vehicle and efficiently painting door interiors.
Shortened paint line lengths also permit longer spraying time (due to
shorter color change times) and higher throughput. In-arm hardware and
enhanced motion software allow fast "on-the-fly" applicator parameter changes,
providing improved paint quality, film build consistency and less paint
overspray. This results in reduced costs and higher profit per vehicle or
part.
The P-200E has maximized trigger accuracy and repeatability through an in-
arm trigger valve for fast gun on/off response time, resulting in reduced
paint waste, higher film build consistency, accurate path teaching, higher
quality and reduced setup and debug time.
The P-200E has a patented purge system approved for operation in hazardous
environments including Class I and II, Division I and Groups C, D, E, F and G.
The Hollow wrist and through arm hose routing provide a clean application
environment.
Easy-to-use PAINTworks III software provides a Windows(TM) graphical
interface for system programming, operation and maintenance. WinTPE and
PaintPRO PC-based software programs (options) provide simplified, Windows-
based programming and program editing interfaces.
