DENSO Acquires 100 Percent Ownership of Purodenso Company in
Jackson, Tenn.
Buys 50 Percent Share From ArvinMeritor
DETROIT, June 1 DENSO today announced that it has acquired
ArvinMeritor's 50 percent ownership in Purodenso Company, located in Jackson,
Tenn. DENSO, which has had a 50 percent ownership for more than 10 years, now
owns 100 percent of Purodenso.
Purodenso, which manufactures air, oil and fuel filters and air induction
systems, previously was a 50-50 joint venture between DENSO International
America, Inc. and ArvinMeritor, Inc. of Troy, Mich. Martin Suzuki will
continue to serve as president of Purodenso.
Tony Takeuchi, president and CEO of DENSO International America, said,
"DENSO is purchasing ArvinMeritor's 50 percent share of Purodenso so that we
can expand its operations to meet our customer needs."
The company employs 450 people and has annual sales of approximately
US$110 million with 238,000 square feet of manufacturing space. Last year,
Purodenso received the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce Madison Award for
being the "Best Company in Jackson and Madison County." The company is
