Manley to Oversee Corporate Giving at
Goodyear
AKRON, Ohio, June 1 Mary E. Manley has been named
director, community involvement and executive communication at The Goodyear
Tire & Rubber Company.
In this newly created position, Manley, 49, will oversee Goodyear's
corporate charitable gifts program, which had been the responsibility of
Patricia A. Kemph, assistant secretary, who is retiring June 29.
"Goodyear and its associates have a tradition of support and involvement
in each of the many communities we call home," said John Perduyn, senior vice
president of global communications, to whom Manley will report.
"In her new position, Mary will help further these relationships and
enhance Goodyear's leadership role in corporate social responsibility."
An Akron native, Manley holds a bachelor of arts degree and a master of
arts degree in journalism from Kent State University. She joined Goodyear in
1978 and has held numerous positions in the company's Global Communications
Department, including those with responsibilities for community relations,
plant communications and publications. In 1999, she was named executive
speechwriter, and those duties will continue in the new position.
