Ford Credit and the Colorado Springs Community Celebrate Grand Opening Of New Service Center, June 1

    COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., June 1 Ford Credit and community
officials will gather today with Ford Credit employees to celebrate the grand
opening of Ford Credit's new regional service center in Colorado Springs,
Colo.  The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the service center at 9930
Federal Drive.
    Ford Credit's state-of-the-art service center -- which already has
generated 750 new jobs for the community -- utilizes advance technologies such
as autodialing, electronic imaging and electronic workflows to make jobs
easier and enhance customer service.  The center services approximately 1.3
million accounts in 16 states.

Colorado Springs community," said Donald A. Winkler, Chairman and Chief

    Mayor Mary Lou Makepeace will be in attendance in addition to Will Temby,

    The Colorado Springs Service Center is the last of eight new regional
service centers opened by Ford Credit in North America within the last two
years.  Other service centers are in Greenville, S.C.; Henderson, Nev.;
Nashville; Baltimore; Irving, Texas; Tampa; and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
The centers are key components of Ford Credit's major restructuring program in
North America, and are designed to facilitate even closer relationships and
cooperation with Ford Credit customers.
