Siemens Automotive Designated an Exemplary
Environmental Enterprise By Virginia
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 31 Siemens Automotive's Newport
News, Va., location has been designated as an Exemplary Environmental
Enterprise (E3) by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (VDEQ).
The company is one of only three business organizations in the state to
receive the E3 designation.
The Newport News location was formally designated an Exemplary
Environmental Enterprise by the Virginia Secretary of Natural Resources John
Paul Woodley on May 30, 2001, during an on-site award ceremony.

responsibility that applies to every aspect of our operation," said Siemens
Automotive Vice President and General Manager Mehran Rahbar. "This award
reflects the on-going commitment to environmental stewardship by all of our
employees here in Newport News."
The Exemplary Environmental Enterprise Designation was established by
Virginia's Department of Environmental Quality (VDEQ) to recognize outstanding
leadership in environmental management systems and environmental performance
for businesses, industry and government. The program is part of Virginia
Innovations for Pollution Prevention (VIP2), a state initiative designed to
improve environmental quality through non-traditional approaches that reward
innovation and leadership.
In addition to the E3 designation, the Newport News location also has
earned the following awards and recognition through its environmental efforts
and activities:
