The stage is set for the Pro Stock Truck class when they return to Route 66 Raceway. The annual Holley Pro Stock Truck Dominator Duel will showcase the eight most consistent qualifiers over a 12-month period on Saturday.
Mike Coughlin and his Jeg's Mail Order Chevy S-10 will start the duel from the No. 5 position. Mike will face off against Jeff Gracia in the opening round of the special event.
"It is an honor to be in this special race for the second straight year. Nothing makes you rise to the occasion like racing the best of the best. Everyone will be hungry for the win light all day long," said Mike.
John Coughlin will begin his battle from the No. 8 spot. He will take on Bob Panella Jr in round one.
"Holley has been one of the biggest supporters of our racing programs through the years. We would like nothing more then to put both of these yellow and black Jeg's Mail Order Chevy S-10's in the final round in Chicago like Jeg and Troy did last year. I think that would put a smile on everyone's face," said John with a grin.
Mike enters the seventh race of the year for the Pro Stock Truck class in the No. 8 position and has 229 points. A strong performance this weekend can move Mike and his Jeg's Mail Order Chevy S-10 as high as the No. 6 spot.
"We have really been focused on our engine development program. We are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel and our performance is giving us results," explained Mike.
John Coughlin is sitting in the No. 18 spot in the NHRA Winston Championship points. Last year John finished No. 4 and is eager to return to the top ten to make his move. John has 114 points is 78 points from returning to the top ten.
"We have seven more races remaining until we add up the final score. This sport is a lot like golf. You need to stayed focused on the big picture and let everything fall into place," commented John.
