Ken Schrader
"I'm not a big fan of concrete, but I do like the way Dover is configured. Nashville is a concrete track, and the ARCA car won there about a month ago, but that still doesn't make me a fan of anything other than asphalt. I've got two wins there, in both a Busch car and a Cup car, but the track wasn't concrete when I won. Regardless, I always like running Dover and I know I've got a pretty good car because our test there went really well. It is a demanding race, but that is part of the fun."--Ken Schrader

Schrader's Dover Downs International...

Five races ago Ken Schrader made his 500th Winston Cup start, but this weekend at Dover Downs Schrader will make his 500th consecutive start. The Missouri native made five starts in 1984, but not in succession. The 1985 rookie of the year began his string of 500 consecutive starts with the 1985 Daytona 500. Schrader is currently the third active driver on the list of most consecutive starts, following Ricky Rudd and Rusty Wallace.

The "M&M's"® Racing Team tested at Dover Downs International earlier this month leading up to the Winston Open. Schrader and the team were pleased with the results of the test.

"M&M's"® Racing Team driver Ken Schrader has a strong performance record at the one-mile, concrete oval of Dover Downs. In 16 starts at Dover in the spring, Schrader has collected 14 top-10 finishes including eight top fives and one win.

Schrader collected his last career Winston Cup victory at Dover in the spring of 1991. It was the second of two wins that season. Schrader finished 10th in his first outing at Dover in the spring of 1985. The spring event at Dover has continued to be kind to Schrader, collecting 10 top 10s and five top fives in 15 starts.
