Findings
DETROIT, May 30 Covisint today announced its public
support for ebXML (http://www.ebXML.org ) following its participation in the recent
Vienna, Austria proof-of-concept demonstration highlighting capabilities of
ebXML technology used to connect trading partners in a B2B exchange. The

ebXML is a set of specifications based on XML (Extensible Markup Language)
that together enable a modular electronic business framework. It facilitates
a global e-business process where enterprises of any size and in any
geographical location can meet and conduct business with each other through
the exchange of XML-based messages. Covisint was actively involved in the 18-
month ebXML initiative and is pleased by the resultant findings as it supports
the company's open standards policy on which its exchange is built.
"Covisint is in a unique position to help blend automotive transaction
standards and Internet related technology standards, and will continue to
actively support the ebXML initiative," said Bill Penn, chief architect,
Covisint. "By participating in this cutting edge proof-of-concept, Covisint
is well positioned to be an early adopter and contributor to this momentum
gaining set of open standards."
A joint initiative of United Nations CEFACT (Centre for Trade Facilitation
and Electronic Business) and OASIS, an international, not-for-profit
consortium that advances electronic business, ebXML was developed with global
participation for global usage by six international standards groups including
the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) and RosettaNet, as well as 28
leading technology companies including Covisint technology partner, Commerce
One.
