USAC: Anderson Sprint Car Race Rescheduled for August 17

The Stoops Freightliner Sprint Car Series, rained out in Wednesday night's attempt to compete at the Anderson (Ind.) Speedway, will return to the 1/4-mile paved oval on Friday night, August 17. the racing program will again feature a 50-lap main event.
Dave Darland posted the fastest qualifying time on Wednesday before the rains came, but participants will begin a complete "new" program on August 17.
Anderson Speedway will also host two more USAC Midget Car events in 2001, a special regional event on June 16 and a WorldCom National Midget Car Series race on September 29.
Derek Davidson, currently seventh in the Stoops Freightliner standings, won the April 2 race at Anderson, while Eric Gordon captured last Saturday night's 53rd Pay Less/Delco Remy "Little 500" Sprint Car USAC special event.
