"I am really looking forward to the stretch of races coming up this summer. We're getting ready for a lot of tracks where we have been able to perform well. We visit a number of one-mile tracks, plus Watkins Glen where this team excels. We really hope to improve on our average finish this summer."-- Tim Fedewa, driver of the Phillips 66 Chevrolet

Tim Fedewa's Thoughts On Dover . . . "Dover is a one-mile, high-banked race track. Although I don't have the finishes to show, it does suit my driving style. The car gets a lot of momentum coming out of turns two and four because of the banking. It's one of only a handful of concrete tracks where we compete, so it's fast. In addition, it's a fairly physical race track. The track isn't smooth which can make it a difficult race for control. Heat always tends to be a factor as well. It can be a physically and mentally draining event for driver and team."

Crew Chief Donnie Richeson On Dover . . . "Dover is always typical. It always tends to be too tight. The other problem is that there tends to be only one racing groove for the Busch race. The second groove doesn't come into play until the Busch race is over. It makes things good for the Cup cars on Sunday, but doesn't help us out much. It's pretty much a one-lane track with no room to pass. The harder tire compound is the big question mark going into this weekend. It may create some different circumstances, but we won't know until we get there."

Equipment . . . "Hillbilly" is the Phillips 66 Chevrolet Fedewa will compete with this weekend in the "MBNA Platinum 200" at Dover Downs International Speedway. "Hillbilly" is the same car the Phillips 66 team finished fourth with at Dover during the fall event in 2000. "Hillbilly's" record also includes a third place at Bristol and a fith place at Darlington during the 2000 Busch Series season.

The $3 Million Mark . . . Fedewa's career earnings in the NASCAR Busch Series, Grand National Division total $2,933,340. The driver of the Phillips 66 Chevrolet is on mark to top the $3 million mark in career earnings. Fedewa's average purse in 2001 has been $24,000 per race. If the Holt, Mich. - native can maintain his average, he will top the $3 million mark in June.
