Schrader's Thoughts On The Coca-Cola 600...

"This track has so many little bumps and dips on it, and it reacts so fast to changes in the weather that we've got a lot to think about when we making changes. Right now the track doesn't have two grooves, but by the time we leave this weekend the groove will be wide enough that we can just about run anywhere we want. We were pretty pleased with this car after the Open and our test, so we elected to run it in the 600 as well."

Schrader's Lowe's Motor Speedway Highlights...

Based on their performance at the Winston Open and a test two weeks ago, the PEDIGREE ® Racing Team elected to use the same car that ran just a handful of days ago. Pleased with the car's performance in the 46 quick laps prior to The Winston, the team has elected to put it to the ultimate test in the longest race of the season. The Coca-Cola 600 will be only the second start for this particular PEDIGREE® Pontiac.

In addition to all of the autograph signings, practice sessions and interview requests, PEDIGREE® Racing Team driver Ken Schrader had to squeeze in two graduation ceremonies. The Schraders' two children, Dorothy and Sheldon, both donned cap and gown in the past week, making two very proud parents. Dorothy has graduated to sixth grade and Sheldon to kindergarten.

For both the Winston Open and Coca-Cola 600, Schrader and the Team will once again be sporting the yellow and blue colors of PEDIGREE Brand Food For Dogs. Schrader is 'Racing To Find Homes For Pets' by earning dollar contributions for each point earned at all 36 races in the 2001 season. PEDIGREE will donate $10 for every point earned by Schrader in 2001 to animal shelters nationwide through its HOMEWARD BOUND program. Homeward Bound was started by PEDIGREE® to encourage responsible pet adoption and find homes for homeless pets.
