USF Distribution Opens Bay Area Service Center

    BOLINGBROOK, Ill.--May 24, 2001--USF Distribution, a logistics subsidiary of USFreightways Corporation, announced today the opening of a new 70,000 square foot service center at 18300 Stanford Road in Tracy, California. From this location, USF Distribution will provide delivery service to 29 Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn and Hold Everything stores from Fresno to Oakland. Williams-Sonoma recently named USF Distribution as their core carrier based on existing operations in Dallas and Atlanta. In addition to the Bay Area operations, USF Distribution recently began deliveries for Williams-Sonoma in the Chicago area.
    Brian McNabb, Director-Transportation for Williams Sonoma commented, "By utilizing USF Distribution from their new service center in Tracy, deliveries are now channeled through a single source provider improving shipment control from the distribution center to the store."
