(616) 233-0500 Spartan Motors Announces Annual Chassis Club RV Rally Expects Excellent Turnout Despite Higher Fuel Prices CHARLOTTE, Michigan, May 24, 2001 - Spartan Motors, Inc. today announced plans for its 12th annual Chassis Club Rally and Training Conference. The event, which begins Tuesday, May 29 and runs through Friday, June 1, will offer a chance for motorhome owners to learn more about their custom platforms and how to maximize enjoyment of the RV lifestyle. The Charlotte, Mich.-based manufacturer of custom chassis for RVs and fire trucks plans to offer both educational classes, training sessions and entertainment for those who attend the event, which is being held at the Eaton County Fairgrounds near Spartan's corporate headquarters. Classes at the Rally will run the gamut from Chassis Electrical Systems to CPR to basket weaving and ceramics. Spartan also offers a riverboat cruise, dinner theatre and a mystery murder train as part of the entertainment package for participants. "The Rally is a great opportunity for Spartan's management, customer service and engineers to meet with the people who have a Spartan Motors chassis under their luxury motorhome," said John Sztykiel, president and chief operating officer of Spartan Motors. "Through our discussions with the owners, we learn what the needs are of premium RV buyers and what innovations could make their RVing experience even better." Attendees will gather at the fairgrounds to learn more about platform maintenance, exchange maintenance and destination tips, examine satellite and GPS options, and relax with golf outings, craft classes, shopping excursions, bingo and much more. Spartan will also make its service center available for maintenance and repairs to Rally attendees during the event. "This is the 12th year that we've had the Rally, and we expect another attendance-setting crowd this year," Sztykiel said. "We think the popularity of the Rally is a testament to the value Spartan Motors gives to its customers by providing education and support long after the motorhome has been purchased." Experienced RV technicians, suppliers and Spartan associates, as well as community professionals from a wide variety of backgrounds, will teach the classes. Some of the courses offered at this year's Rally include: § Health Issues for the RVer § Motorhome Driving Safety § Engine maintenance § Women & Towing § Evaluating Your Investment Managers § Chassis Electrical Systems "One of the key themes of the Rally has always been camaraderie," Sztykiel said. "We want to make sure that everyone is involved, so we offer a line-up of classes and social events that involve spouses and the whole family." Spartan also offers tours of its manufacturing plants, as well as luncheons, a homemade pancake breakfast put on by Spartan associates, and a closing dinner. Spartan Motors, Inc.
