American Isuzu Motors Names Burns Regional Vice President

    CERRITOS, Calif., May 23 American Isuzu Motors Inc. (AIMI)
has named Phillip R. Burns Vice President, Regional Operations for the
Southeast Region in Alpharetta, Ga.  Previously he served as Executive Manager
for the same region.
    Mr. Burns brings 28 years of automobile industry experience to his new
position, spanning multiple managerial levels.  During his term as an
Executive Manager, the Southeast Region owned the largest percentage of
compact SUV retail sales and achieved the highest retail sales per dealer
outlet, as compared to other AIMI regions.  Additionally, the Southeast Region
earned and maintained the top ranking as Isuzu's best sales satisfaction
region in the U.S.
    Other positions he has held within AIMI include National Manager, SUV
Sales Operations and Regional Sales Manager, Southwest Region.  He holds a
Bachelor's Degree in Marketing from North Texas State University.
