G&W Motorsports Leads Three Grand-am Championship Categories

Fresh off their win at the Six Hours of the Glen, G&W Motorsports sits atop three Grand American Road Racing 2001 Championship categories. The 2000 Championship team currently leads this season in both GT and GTS classes. The Motorola/CommScope/Valley Group car #81 took it's first checkered flag of the season after two consecutive 2nd place finishes. "It feels great to finally win one," commented driver Matt Drendel.
The old faithful Jennifer Fund car #07 is also leading the championship race in it's GTS class after the 4th round. Steve Marshall teamed up with Cort Wagner to finish 3rd at the Glen replacing Danny Marshall who is pursing a seat in the Virginia House of Delegates. The Marshall/Wagner combination will continue for the remainder of the season.
G&W Motorsports drivers Darren Law and Matt Drendel also lead the driver's championship points going into the next round of the series at Lime Rock Park. "This was a pivotal point in our season being able to build a points lead while coming back from a qualifying incident and a swaybar problem during the race. Mostly the Six Hour was a testament to the driving abilities of Darren, Matt and David and a crew that refuses to lose."- team manager, Cole Scrogham.
