Volvo Selects GraphOn's GO-Global Software to Run Finance Application Suite Remotely

    MORGAN HILL, Calif.--May 23, 2001--

GraphOn Technology Enables Volvo To Run Global Treasury Operations Across Multiple Time Zones

GraphOn(R) Corporation, http://GO.GraphOn.com, developers of business infrastructure software for network- and web-enabling UNIX, Windows and Linux applications, today announced a licensing agreement to provide employees involved with Volvo's in-house bank, Volvo Treasury, with remote access to Finance KIT developed by Oy Trema AB.
The initial application for GraphOn's web-enabling technology calls for delivery of Trema financial applications over a wide area network via GraphOn's GO-Global software installed on Novell-based servers. By centralizing the sophisticated financial management system in Gothenburg, Sweden and using GraphOn's GO-Global software, Volvo Treasury can provide real-time access to Finance KIT's critical financial information in a uniform systems environment to authorized Volvo Treasury users in geographically dispersed sites that are using CLASS, Volvo's common PC environment.
Volvo has been using Finance KIT since 1995 and has installations in the United States, Singapore and Gothenburg, Sweden. The project will merge the three installations, and therefore three databases, into one allowing Finance KIT to be used across all time zones, around the clock.
"This will give us a lot of flexibility in the future and present substantial cost and time savings," said Magnus Jarlen, risk manager, Volvo Treasury. "Volvo will reduce their capital costs of the servers due to maintenance taking place only at Volvo IT, Gothenburg. Volvo can also reduce their market data costs by reducing the need for +external feeds from three to one. There are a lot of cost savings to

definitely makes it worthwhile."
"We are pleased that GraphOn technology is putting world-class, high-powered applications of the sort used by banks and multinationals into the hands of dynamic companies like Volvo," said GraphOn vice president of Worldwide Sales, George Phillips. "Volvo is an excellent example of an international manufacturer who continuously seeks ways to manage and accommodate additions of new products and ever-evolving operations. GraphOn is proud to be a part of that evolution."
