McClendon Transportation Group to Test Fuel System

LAFAYETTE, Ala.--May 22, 2001--McClendon Transportation Group, Inc. (Pinksheets:MCLG) announced today agreements with Alternative Fuel Systems, Inc. The accords provide for McClendon to equip one of its over-the-road tractors with a test unit that reduces emissions and increases fuel mileage.
The increase in fuel efficiency is expected to be significant based upon earlier tests confirmed by Alternative Fuel Systems, Inc. Alternative Fuel Systems was supplied with the resulting information from a 2 million mile test of this technology utilizing a patent developed by Shetly Automotive and the Holman Moody engineering group.
McClendon Transportation has been designated as the test platform for the equipment. Also upon completion of a third party verification of both the lowered emissions and increased fuel efficiency, McClendon will become the sole distributor of the system to the trucking industry.
