Land Rover's Freelander will be the first small, premium European sport-utility vehicle ever to be sold in the U.S. Freelander comes from the same British lineage as Land Rover's Range Rover and Discovery but is a more compact interpretation of the luxury SUV package; Freelander is perfect for the city, the highway and for off-road driving. Along with a permanent all-wheel drive system, Freelander features Hill Descent Control, a 2.5-litre, 24-valve DOHC V6 engine and all of the off-road handling capabilities consumers expect from Land Rover vehicles.
