USF Worldwide Appoints Executive Vice President of North American Operations

    ITASCA, Ill.--May 21, 2001--USF Worldwide, the global freight forwarding subsidiary of USFreightways, announced the appointment of Fred Glantz as Executive Vice President of North American Operations. In this position, Mr. Glantz has full operating responsibility for USF Worldwide's operations in North America.

    Mr. Glantz joins USF Worldwide with over 30 years of freight forwarding and customs brokerage experience. He started his career at J.E. Bernard in the import department and over a twelve year period worked in all air and ocean departments for import and export. His last position with J.E. Bernard was Chief Operating Officer, which he held for five years.
    Mr. Glantz helped found Wilson American, a customs broker and freight forwarder based in Chicago, where he worked for fifteen years. As the CEO for five years he guided and grew the company's business until Wilson-AB purchased Wilson American. Mr. Glantz became the Chief Operating Officer at Wilson USA and was promoted to CEO, which he held for four years.
    In 1996, Mr. Glantz joined ASG-USA as the Chief Operating Officer where he worked the past three years. Under his management at ASG-USA was one of the most profitable business units in ASG. He was promoted to CEO, which he held until Danzas/AEI acquired the company.
