Comdata and Pegasus TransTech Team Up to Speed Cash Flow for Fleets

    ASHEVILLE, N.C. & BRENTWOOD, Tenn.--May 21, 2001--

"This new behind the desk service to be offered at major truck
stops will speed up cash flow for carriers by allowing them
    to do same day billing."

Comdata Corporation and Pegasus TransTech jointly announced today an exclusive agreement to offer the TRANSFLO Express(TM) Scanning Service at truck stop fuel desks. This new service will provide fleets with instant access to trip documents and speed up the billing cycle and driver settlements versus the existing processes of using terminal drops and overnight delivery services. Comdata initially plans to offer the new TRANSFLO Express(TM) Scanning Service for fleets at about 750 of the 2,500 truck stops utilizing Comdata's Trendar(TM) point of sale systems and its current communication network. Trained truck stop cashiers will scan the trip documents, which will typically take less than a minute for the entire transaction. The images will be transmitted to Pegasus' redundant data centers where they will be immediately available for retrieval, billing and driver settlements. Fleets with imaging systems may retrieve the documents directly into their in-house imaging and workflow systems while others will simply utilize Pegasus' ASP Image Warehouse.
"Cash flow has never been more important to trucking companies than it is today," said Frank Adelman, executive vice president and general manager of Comdata's Transportation Services division. "By teaming up with Pegasus and our truck stop network, we can offer speed, security, accuracy and economy to fleets that was previously unavailable to them for retrieving and processing trip documents."
"This is a big step in our commitment to the transportation industry to condense the time span from when a driver delivers a load until they receive payment for that load, " said Leslie Berlin, president and CEO of Pegasus TransTech. "This service can easily shorten the billing process for our customers from one to five days, which has a tremendous impact on their cash flow and unbilled revenue." Bob Helms, Pegasus chairman added, "Most fleets are already spending that same amount of money on overnight delivery or postage, so the TRANSFLO Express(TM) Scanning Service is a replacement cost to them, not an additional cost."
