For Immediate Release:
UW Super Trucks Points Tight Entering Race 6 Of The SeasonJim McGill #7 has a lot at stake this Saturday night at Irwindale Speedway. He won the first Ultra Wheels Super Truck ever run at Irwindale back in 1999 and he is currently track record holder (19.067) in all the truck divisions on this track. He is also the Irwindale Speedway defending race winner from March 31st. Dave Blankenship #47 is 15 points (3 finishing positions) ahead of McGill in the Southern Division championship run and is hoping to keep McGill behind him and work that lead into a more comfortable margin. Nipping away at the heels of both McGill and Blankenship will be Dan Moore #95, Greg Adler #77, and #50 Mark Laeger, 3rd through 5th in points with a 5 point spread between each of them. There is only a 45 point spread between 6th place Jon Campbell #25 (two wins in a row this season), and 10th Scott Calvin #58. Sitting in 7th is Bill Helgeson #18, who has won two trophy dash wins and one main event win at Irwindale. Jake Hodges #17, a young man who got his first podium finish (2nd place) two weeks ago at Vegas, which took him to 8th in points. Kevin O'Neil #38 is hoping to get back on the great roll he started the season with and improve his 9th place in points position. Other racers in the series to keep an eye open for are Cory Fancy #20, #31 Mike Koepsell, and Bryan Araki #43 - new to the series, but certainly not new to racing. Ron Peterson #41 is certainly a force to be reckoned with as we saw him finish 2nd to McGill at Irwindale March 31st - Peterson's first race in his Ultra Wheels Super Truck. Jim Kondziela #1 (Jimmy K), Larry Hinderman #5, and Reggie Church #57 should all be at the track Saturday night ready to give the fans some excitement …speaking of which - Michael Brusco #0 and Frank Steiner #3 are great veteran racers who are awesome to watch move through traffic. Other possible entrants include: #03 Rich Geisler, #4 Sonny Shelly, #09 Thane Alderman, #12 Ryan Arciero, #13 Gregg O'Rourke, #22 Zeke Derose, #27 Michael Sherman, #39 Angelo Gullotti, #40 P.J. Baker, #45 Jesse Poppen, #51 Tony Dodder, #52 Tom Stanton, #64 Ken Davis, #66 Troy Lindstrom, and #67 Dion Pownall.
