Saul Retires From Horace Mann Board of Directors
SPRINGFIELD, Ill.--May 18, 2001--Ralph S. Saul retired today as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Horace Mann Educators Corporation .Lou Lower, president and chief executive officer, thanked Mr. Saul for his contributions to the company and noted, "Ralph has provided exceptional leadership to the company, wise counsel and valuable advice. He has guided our past, led our present and readied us for our future."
Mr. Saul first became a Director of the company in June 1995. During his distinguished career, he served as Director of the Division of Trading and Markets of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, President of the American Stock Exchange, Chief Executive Officer of INA Corporation, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of CIGNA Corporation.
