Johnson Controls Named General Motors Supplier
of the Year For Sixth Consecutive Year, and Seventh Time

PLYMOUTH, Mich., May 17 Johnson Controls , a
leading global manufacturer of automotive interior systems and batteries, has
been named a 2000 General Motors Corporation Supplier of the Year for its
superior performance in quality, service, technology and price.
The award was presented to officials from Johnson Controls at a ceremony
at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. on April 28, 2001. Each year, GM
honors its best global suppliers based on their performance.
Johnson Controls has gained such customer recognition for six consecutive
years, and has been named among GM's top suppliers seven times overall.

The GM Supplier of the Year program was launched in 1992. Award-winners
are selected annually by a global team of executives representing purchasing,
engineering, manufacturing and logistics. For the year 2000, 165 companies
from 19 nations gained Supplier of the Year honors.
