This TOPTEC is one of a series of technical symposia designed to provide a forum to discuss key topics in industry and government today.
Detroit Translation Bureau, a Bingham Farms, Michigan-based translation supplier to the automotive community will be a sponsor for the event and Rick Woyde, President and CEO of the company will be a featured speaker.
The SAE'S first TOPTEC took place three years ago and was organized for the benefit of the automotive industry. At the time due to increased corporate globalization efforts, organizers recognized the need and importance for multilingual technical documentation. Further, the organizing committee believed that companies needed to speak to customers in their own language -- it was no longer an option but a competitive necessity. Market research studies indicate that messages in a local language improve impact by a factor of two or three.
