USF Holland Drivers Win 1st Place MTA Safety Award For A Fifth Consecutive Year
HOLLAND, Mich.--May 17, 2001--USF Holland Inc., a regional carrier unit of USFreightways Corporation, has been honored with a first place award for driver safety by the Michigan Trucking Association (MTA). The Fleet Safety Awards were announced at the MTA's 53nd Annual Safety Awards Banquet on April 24.USF Holland's city and linehaul drivers received the top honor in the General Commodities, Combined category. This was the 5th consecutive year USF Holland drivers have been honored with a first place award. During 2000, the company's drivers drove 36,644,138 miles within Michigan and had the lowest overall collision frequency among carriers in its class. Collision frequency--measured per million miles--is the key statistic used by the MTA to measure safe-driving performance.
