Lexus and AutoTrader.Com Collaborate to Offer an Exclusive Search Engine For Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles

    TORRANCE, Calif., May 16 Lexus, an innovator in pre-owned
vehicle sales since 1993, and AutoTrader.com, the leading Internet auto
classifieds destination and marketplace in the United States, have joined
forces to offer consumers a comprehensive and efficient way to search for
Lexus Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) vehicles.
    Through this partnership, visitors to AutoTrader.com can search for a
specific Lexus model and request to view only certified vehicles.  When
results are found, detailed information about the car, including make and
model, price, mileage, color photographs and contact information appear so a
buyer can contact the dealer directly.  In addition, customers can receive
information regarding the Lexus CPO program or link to Lexus.com from
AutoTrader.com's site.
    "Searching for a pre-owned vehicle can be frustrating and time consuming,
but the Lexus/AutoTrader.com partnership streamlines the process so customers

vehicle they want and immediately initiate a discussion with a dealer."
    AutoTrader.com offers car shoppers the largest classified database of used
vehicles online, with more than 1.5 million listings.  Each month,
AutoTrader.com attracts more than five million unique visitors who generate
more than 25 million vehicle searches.

    The Lexus CPO program is attracting new buyers to the Lexus family.  In
2000, more than 27,000 Lexus CPO vehicles were sold, 86 percent of which were
purchased by people who had never owned a Lexus before.
    "We need to continue to introduce potential pre-owned vehicle customers to
the Lexus Certified Pre-Owned program," said Ingram.  "This partnership with
AutoTrader.com is the first of several ideas for 2001 designed to attract new
buyers to our dealerships."
    The Lexus CPO program offers the most complete certified pre-owned package
in the industry.  Each CPO Lexus must pass a grueling 128-point inspection and
comes with a factory-backed warranty that includes a limited bumper-to-bumper
coverage for three years from the date of purchase or 100,000 total vehicle
miles.  Also included is a Customer Care Package that covers a complimentary
oil and filter change, new vehicle rates and terms, complimentary loaner
vehicles for qualified repairs and Lexus 24-Hour Roadside Assistance.
