Hershey Foods Repositions Winston Cup Sponsorship

    HERSHEY, Pa., May 16 Hershey Foods will maintain its
relationship with Richard Childress Racing and has transitioned its Winston
Cup program to Kevin Harvick, driver of the #29 car.  In addition, Hershey has
worked with RCR to relaunch its consumer promotion.  The name of the 2001
Hershey's Racing consumer promotion "A Sweet Deal from Dale" has been changed
to "Honoring the Legendary #3 Team."
    Hershey's Racing program will honor racing legend Dale Earnhardt while
building a new relationship between Hershey, Richard Childress Racing and
Kevin Harvick.  Hershey's web site and showcar program elements have both been
repositioned to meet these goals.
    Hershey's Racing showcar program now features the #29 Goodwrench Chevrolet
Monte Carlo and includes a decal -- honoring the #3 Dale Earnhardt Richard
Childress Racing Team -- on the showcar, trailer and showcar drivers'
uniforms.  Other #29 showcar program elements include:
    -- remembrance note pads, which allow fans to express their condolences
        to the Earnhardt family;
    -- Kevin Harvick posters for consumers at each showcar appearance; and,
    -- while supplies last, Dale Earnhardt posters for the first 100 people
        at each showcar appearance.

    Hershey's Racing consumer promotion, now called "Honoring the Legendary #3
Team," will be communicated on Hershey's web site at http://www.hersheysracing.com
and on tear pads available at in-store promotional displays.  Although minor
changes have been made to the items being offered through the new consumer
program, orders submitted on "Sweet Deal from Dale" order forms will be
honored while supplies last.
