USF Holland Receives ISO 9002 Certification at Five Additional Locations
HOLLAND, Mich.--May 16, 2001--USF Holland Inc., a regional carrier unit of USFreightways Corporation, announced today that ISO 9002 registration has been awarded to five additional company locations. The five locations are freight terminals located in Joliet, Illinois; South Bend and Fort Wayne, Indiana and Kalamazoo and Pontiac, Michigan. The certificates are the result of recent audits that inspected quality system processes at these facilities. The five new certificates, added to ones received by its main office and the Detroit terminal in early April, bring USF Holland's total to seven. Three more locations will be audited in May and another four in June. European Quality Assurance (EQA), Ltd., an independent auditing firm based in England that reviews corporate operations to verify customer service proficiency, is conducting the audits.
"Our people have done a thorough job of documenting their work procedures and implementing best practices in preparation for the EQA audits," commented Steve Blubaugh, the company's Director of Process Improvement.
