Earns Prestigious Supplier Award
ELIZABETH, Australia, May 16 Exide Technologies
, the global leader in stored electrical energy solutions, continues
to garner international recognition for quality products and manufacturing
excellence.
Exide Australia recently earned an "A" rating by Mitsubishi Motors
Australia Ltd. (MMAL). The Elizabeth manufacturing facility won the Supplier
Quality Performance (SQP) rating for the period July through December 2000 for
the ability to deliver on time and in full, meeting the stringent standards
related to defective parts and engineering innovation. Exide Australia
manufactures automotive starting batteries for MMAL's domestic Magna and
Verada passenger vehicles, as well as for the Mitsubishi Diamante export
vehicle.

Mitsubishi's SQP is a quality rating of suppliers in accordance with their
Three Diamond Quality, QS9000. The rating system has been in effect for many
years and is awarded every six months. Suppliers' performance is measured and
rigorously monitored by MMAL to meet stringent criteria in several key areas
including delivery performance, product quality and engineering innovation.
