Brose North America Wins International Award
for One-Touch Up(TM) Technology
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 16 Brose North America's
One-Touch Up(TM) anti-trapping door/window system was awarded first place in
the Auto Interiors sixth annual international Design & Technology Awards.
Entered under the category of product safety, comfort and convenience, the
Brose anti-trapping technology was analyzed by a panel of industry experts and
Auto Interiors editorial staff; then rated on an independent point system.
The One-Touch Up system won more points than all entries in its category to
secure the first place title.
The award-winning technology was evaluated against three criteria:
originality, innovation and value to the customer. Brose's One-Touch Up
system is the first anti-trapping door/window application to be designed,
engineered, manufactured and sold in North America. The system is currently
available on the 2001 Cadillac Seville.
The One-Touch Up convenience feature utilizes an indirect detection system
that automatically monitors window regulator motor speed and direction. If an
obstacle enters the closing window's path, a force of less than 100N triggers
a reverse in direction, lessening the likelihood of serious injury.
"We are excited to receive this distinguished award for our technology
leadership in door and window systems," said Jan Kowal, president of Brose
North America. "Since its inception in 1919, Brose has continuously focused
on defining the niche of window systems, door modules and seat adjusters.
Technology like One-Touch Up is the reason for our leadership in the
automotive industry."
Worldwide, Brose supplies over 40 OEMs and Tier One manufacturers with
intelligent systems and modules for vehicle doors and seats. Nearly 5,000
employees at 18 locations in Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa
are engaged in the production and development of window regulators, door
modules and seat adjuster systems.
