Fox Sports Net Bay Area Steps to the Plate in the ``Volvo Grand Slam Inning''

    SAN FRANCISCO--(BW SportsWire)--May 15, 2001--

Lucky Fans Have a Chance to Win a Volvo S40 With a 5th Inning Grand Slam During A's Games on Fox Sports Net Bay Area

Fox Sports Net Bay Area -- cable home of the 2000 American League Western Division Champion Oakland A's -- brings added excitement to this year's A's telecasts by partnering with Volvo Cars of North America for the "Volvo Grand Slam Inning." For the rest of the baseball season, A's fans will have a unique opportunity to drive home a brand new $24,000 Volvo S40 car. Jeff Krolik, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Fox Sports Net Bay Area, made the announcement.
During each A's game telecast on Fox Sports Net Bay Area beginning May 16 and continuing through September 30, one lucky A's fan will get a chance to win a Volvo S40 if the A's hit a grand slam in the 5th inning of the game. If the A's do not hit a grand slam, the contestant will win two tickets to an A's game.
An A's fan will be selected in a random drawing before each game to be the lucky contestant and will be announced before the 5th inning of the game. To enter the "Volvo Grand Slam Inning" contest, fans must e-mail volvograndslam@foxsports.net with their name, address, age (18 or older), and phone number, or send a postcard to:

"We are pleased to partner with Volvo Cars of North America for the 'Volvo Grand Slam' contest," said Krolik. "With the excitement of A's baseball and the explosiveness of this young A's team, we all know that a grand slam can happen at any time. When the A's hit a grand slam in the fifth inning this year, some lucky fan will be winning a Volvo S40."
