The annual Pikes Peak International Hill Climb has been moved from its
traditional July 4 to Saturday June 30.  Kenworth Truck Co. will once again
will race a T2000 driven by Bruce Canepa.  For your convenience, I have
pulled some pertinent media and race info from the race website at
pphic.com.  If you wish to attend the event, please contact Tim Bergsten.

Pikes Peak International Hill Climb accepting media credential requests

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Greetings from the Pikes Peak International Hill
Climb. The 2001 Race to the Clouds will be held on Saturday, June 30th. Race
week begins on June 24 with the 2001 Kickoff Celebration and Technical
Inspection for cars and trucks at the Citadel Mall in Colorado Springs.
Practice for the race begins on Monday, June 25. Motorcycle, sidecar and
quad tech is June 27 at Giuseppe's Depot Restaurant.

Like last year, the media credential process is very easy. If you would like
to cover the race, simply e-mail, fax, or call us at the numbers or e-mail
address listed above with the following information:

* Company name
* Names and phone numbers of those covering the race
* Assigning editor's name and phone number

All members of the working media will receive the same credential.
Non-working members of the media will not receive credentials. Your media
credential will serve as your parking pass.

PHOTOGRAPHERS: Photographs taken by credentialed media at the Pikes Peak
International Hill Climb may be used by or sold only to the media.
Photographs may not be sold to drivers, spectators or anyone not using them
for distribution to the media. Photographers who violate this policy will
have their press credential revoked and will not be invited to cover the
race in the future. The right to sell photographs to a non-media market is
reserved for the official Pikes Peak International Hill Climb photographer
and his staff. To apply to assist the official photographer of the race,
please contact Tim Bergsten at the numbers listed above.

STRINGERS: If you want to cover the race but have not been assigned to do
so, please contact Tim Bergsten at the numbers listed above.

PRESS ROOM: The race pressroom will open at 11 a.m., June 24 at the Antlers
Adam's Mark Hotel, 4 S. Cascade. Credentials can be picked up there.

LODGING: Make your reservations by calling Dee Vazquez, (719) 448-9050.

TRANSPORTATION: Transportation to the summit - the best place for interviews
- and starting line will be provided only on race day. There will be a
sign-up sheet in the pressroom for those who would like a ride on race day.
Please sign up by June 27. Summit passes for media will be issued only to
radio and TV broadcast vehicles.
