Carroll Shelby's Legacy Spans All Generations Through Product Licensing Agreements

Company Signs Its 50th Licensee in Global Marketing Effort

LOS ANGELES, May 15 Carroll Shelby Licensing, Inc. (CSL)
announced today that it has signed its 50th licensee in its global licensing
program. JAKKS Pacific, Inc. joins the ranks of such renowned
companies as Mattel, Sony, Franklin Mint, Electronic Arts, Playing Mantis, and
Revell-Monogram and Bburago and others in licensing one of the world's most
famous racing and auto manufacturing legends -- Carroll Shelby. JAKKS
Pacific, Inc. will be introducing a 1:43-scale die-cast Shelby Cobra 427 S/C
under its Road Champs Division.
The Carroll Shelby Licensing properties include the trademarks and design
rights for some of the most famous American muscle cars ever built. These
rights include the Shelby Cobra 427, the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe, Shelby GT
350 and GT 500, as well as many other Shelby trademarks and properties.
"I made racing history by being the first American automaker to win the
coveted FIA World Manufacturer's Championship, back in 1965," says Carroll
Shelby. "I did it with my American-built Shelby Cobra. My legacy will live
on through many of the fine companies we do business with today."
That legacy reaches across the generations, today impacting children who
are just now discovering Shelby's celebrated cars via Mattel Hot Wheels(TM)
models or Sony PlayStation(TM) video games featuring the famous Shelby Cobras
and Shelby GT 350 and GT500, as well as Shelby's newest road warrior: the
Shelby Series 1 Coupe. By seeking out the best-in-class manufacturers and
products, CSL will continue to build awareness of the Carroll Shelby Brands
and re-introduce its cars and heritage to generations.
In addition to the current toy, hobby and collectibles market, CSL has
entered into licensing agreements with a myriad of other diverse industries
including computer hardware, computer games, motorcycle manufacturing,
apparel, and clothing, and automotive accessories as well as some of the top
movie studios in Hollywood.
"We have enjoyed great success having our Shelby cars in numerous movies
over the years," says John Luft, Vice President, Business Development and
Marketing for CSL. "Some of these movies include the recent blockbuster hit,
Disney Studios' 'Gone In 60 Seconds,' and the soon-to-be-released MGM remake
of the 1970s futuristic thriller, 'Rollerball.' We've even had the U.S. Navy
inquire about using the Cobra logo on a squadron of jet fighters. These
opportunities," continues Luft, "and others will continue to perpetuate the
influence and effect Carroll Shelby has had on the American automotive scene
for generations to come."

Carroll Shelby Licensing Inc. is the exclusive holder of Carroll Shelby's
