Hayes Lemmerz Commercial Highway Group Announces Key Appointments

    NORTHVILLE, Mich., May 15 Hayes Lemmerz International,
Inc. , a leading global supplier to the automotive and commercial
highway industry, today announced the following appointments to its Commercial
Highway Group:
    Jeffrey Geist, to the position of Director of Business Development.  Geist
joined Hayes Lemmerz Commercial Highway Group as Director of Engineering in
connection with the Company's acquisition of CMI International in February
1999.  At CMI, Geist held various technical and commercial management
positions.
    Geist holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from
Valparaiso University, in Valparaiso, Ind.
    Herbert A. Larsen, to the position of Director of Engineering.  Larsen
comes to Hayes Lemmerz with a broad range of engineering and manufacturing
experience.  He most recently worked for ArvinMeritor as Engineering Manager
of Specialty Products.
    Larsen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from
the University of Wisconsin in Platteville, Wis.   He received his Master of
Science in Engineering Management from the Milwaukee School of Engineering, in
Milwaukee, Wis.  Larsen is also a registered Professional Engineer.
    Geist and Larsen will report directly to Michael C. McGrath, President of
Hayes Lemmerz Commercial Highway and Aftermarket Services Division.
