Harley-Davidson Selects ARI Electronic Parts Catalog for Dealer Network; ARI's PartSmart Electronic Parts Catalog Software Heart of E-Commerce System
MILWAUKEE--May 15, 2001--ARI Network Services, Inc. , a leading provider of Partner Relationship Management (PRM) and business-to-business (B2B) Internet e-Commerce solutions that connect equipment manufacturers with their service and distribution networks, announced that Harley-Davidson Motor Company of Milwaukee, Wis. has selected ARI's PartSmart(TM) electronic parts catalog software for use by their dealers."We closely examined the top electronic parts catalog software that is available and selected ARI's PartSmart software because we felt it would provide our dealers with the features and functionality they need to be successful. In addition, PartSmart's integration with our TALON2 business management system will provide our dealers with a powerful business tool," said Denny Stapleton, director of demand chain integration for Harley-Davidson. "An example of this integration is PartSmart's ability to color code the reference numbers on a parts illustration so a dealer can immediately see if the part is in the TALON2 inventory." Harley-Davidson Dealer Systems (HDDS), a division of Harley-Davidson, developed the TALON and TALON2 business management systems.
"It is very gratifying to have Harley-Davidson, a company highly respected for its products and service, entrust the dissemination of its parts and service information to our software," said Brian E. Dearing, chairman and chief executive officer of ARI. "I believe this is a testament to the quality and value of PartSmart, which is used by thousands of dealers around the world." Dearing also indicated that as part of the contract, ARI would work closely with HDDS to ensure the successful rollout of PartSmart to Harley dealers.
