AIADA Lauds Chairman's Mark Seeking to Repeal
the Death Tax
ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 14 The American International
Automobile Dealers Association (AIADA) commends Sens. Charles Grassley (R-IA)
and Max Baucus (D-MT) for incorporating death tax repeal in the Chairman's
mark of the "Restoring Earnings to Lift Individuals and Empower Families Act
of 2001." The tax bill is currently scheduled to go to the Senate Finance
Committee for mark up tomorrow morning.
AIADA strongly urges the Senate Finance Committee to retain language in
the bill to repeal the death tax.
"The death tax has had a devastating impact on America's family-owned
small businesses, including many of this country's automobile dealerships,"
says AIADA President Walter Huizenga. "AIADA strongly supports the elimination
of the federal death tax and encourages Congress to repeal this onerous tax."
