Acura to Sponsor Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance

        Popular Event Features a Weekend of Classic Cars, High Fashion
                             And Golf for Charity

    TORRANCE, Calif., May 14 Acura, the maker of luxury
performance automobiles, will sponsor the ninth annual Palos Verdes Concours
d'Elegance charity event September 14-16 at the Ocean Trails Golf Club in
Rancho Palos Verdes, California, the company announced today.
    Since its inception in 1992, the Concours d'Elegance has quickly become a
Southern California tradition, drawing thousands of automotive enthusiasts
each year.  This year's event features over 200 classic automobiles on display
throughout the picturesque Ocean Trails Golf Club grounds on the bluffs above
the Pacific Ocean.  The cars will compete in 25 classes including horseless
carriage, vintage, European sports cars and street rods and more.  Barry
Meguiar, President and CEO of Meguiar's will serve as Grand Marshal with
Parnelli Jones as Celebrity Judge.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the
Palos Verdes Peninsula Rotary Foundation and the Palos Verdes Art Center.

    In addition to the automobile exhibition, the weekend's events will
include an invitational golf tournament at Ocean Trails' Pete Dye-designed
course and a fashion show by St. John.  Prior to the event, some of Palos
Verdes' most beautiful homes will be on display at Oceanfront estates, the
starting point for a pre-event road rally on September 2.  More than 60 autos
will take part in the rally, which winds its way through the Palos Verdes
Peninsula from Oceanfront to the shops at Avenue of the Peninsula.
