Piaggio USA Retains JMPR for Public Relations Projects

    WOODLAND HILLS, Calif., May 14 Piaggio USA, a wholly owned
subsidiary of Piaggio & C S.p.A, producers of Italy's celebrated Vespa motor
scooters, has retained the services of JMPR, Inc. for regional public
relations projects.
    Piaggio USA was formed in 1998 for the purpose of re-introducing the Vespa
scooters to the United States.  Sales of the scooters had been suspended in
the 1980s.  In 2000, the first Vespa Boutique debuted in Sherman Oaks,
California, to retail the new ET2 50cc and ET4 150cc Vespa models plus a
specialty line of Vespa apparel and accessories.  Beginning in May 2001,
additional Vespa Boutiques will be opening throughout the Continental U.S. and
Hawaii.  Current Vespa locations include Sherman Oaks, CA; Denver, CO and
Miami, FL.  Vespa will be opening boutiques in Lincoln Park, CH and Houston,
TX in upcoming months.  JMPR will be assisting with media relations programs
for these launches.
