Ford 2001 Annual Meeting Voting Results

    ST. PAUL, Minn., May 10 A total of 286 people attended the
46th annual meeting of Ford Motor Company shareholders today at The
Fitzgerald Theater.
    Preliminary voting results indicate that a total of 1,550,394,261 shares
of common stock and 70,729,784 shares of Class B stock were represented at the
annual meeting in person or by proxy.  These shares represent 92.73 percent of
the votes that could be cast.
    Each director received at least 2,463,909,164 votes, or 90.49 percent of
the votes cast at the meeting (Proposal 1 in the Proxy Statement).

    Vote on other Proposals:

    Proposal 2.  Relating to the approval of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as
Ford Motor Company's independent public accountants for 2001.

    For         98.55 percent
    Against      1.45 percent
    Abstain      0.44 percent


    Proposal 3.  Relating to the company's political contributions.

    For         4.49 percent
    Against    95.51 percent
    Abstain     2.57 percent

    Proposal 4.  Relating to discontinuing bonuses, stock-based awards and
severance pay contracts for senior management.

    For         5.21 percent
    Against    94.79 percent
    Abstain     1.22 percent

    Proposal 5.  Relating to requiring director nominees to publish reports to
shareholders in the proxy statement.

    For          4.79 percent
    Against     95.21 percent
    Abstain      1.33 percent

    Proposal 6.  Relating to establishing an independent committee of the
board of directors to evaluate any conflict of interest between Class B Stock
shareholders and common stock shareholders.

    For        15.80 percent
    Against    84.20 percent
    Abstain     1.32 percent
