Guardian Industries Corp. Names Gayle A. Joseph Director of Communications

    AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 10 Gayle A. Joseph has been named
director of communications for Guardian Industries Corp.  In her new position,
Joseph will oversee all of Guardian's public relations and marketing
communications activities.

    Prior to joining Guardian, Joseph was senior vice president at John Bailey
& Associates Inc., Public Relations, Troy, where she played a key role in the
firm's strategic management and operations.  She was responsible for directing
client activities, supervising the firm's staff and overseeing marketing
initiatives.  She has extensive experience in internal and external
communications, program development, reputation management, crisis
communications, community relations, media relations and special event
planning.

public relations programming to Guardian Industries," said Peter S. Walters,

    Joseph is a graduate of Northern Illinois University where she earned a
bachelor of arts degree in journalism and also studied graphic and commercial
art.  She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA),
Women's Economic Club and the Adcraft Club.  She also serves on the executive
board and government affairs committee of Automation Alley, Oakland County.
