Donnelly to Supply Key Components for New General Motors SUVs

HOLLAND, Mich., May 10 Donnelly Corporation
will provide a significant number of products that will improve the safety and
convenience of several new General Motors (GM) sports utility vehicles
including the GMC Envoy, Chevrolet TrailBlazer and the Oldsmobile Bravada.
The Company will supply a highly advanced electronic outside mirror system, a
backlight window assembly and door handles. The vehicles will also include
Donnelly's multi-feature interior mirrors.

Donnelly's Exterior Systems group will provide these GM models with some
of the most sophisticated exterior mirrors in the world today. The mirrors
will include the following features:

    * SPM(TM) (Solid Polymer Matrix) technology that makes automatic-dimming
mirrors safer and more robust than competing products.
    * TurnSignal(TM) lights that function as supplemental turn signal
indicators, warning drivers in the blind spot when a car is changing lanes or
turning. The Donnelly-patented TurnSignal(TM) lights project beams both
forward and rearward for increased visibility on the road.
    * Memory actuators with reverse tilt that allows owners -- with the push
of a button -- to position the mirrors at appropriate angles for various
drivers. The mirrors can also tilt automatically when the car is shifted into
reverse to enhance the ability to see the distance between the tire and
objects behind the vehicle.
    * A powerfold mechanism that minimizes the likelihood of damage when
maneuvering in tight spaces.

The backlight window assembly uses Donnelly-invented DirectBond(TM)
single-sided encapsulation, which creates a smooth, aerodynamic look in which
all weather stripping or mounting hardware is invisible outside the vehicle.

In addition, the interior SPM(TM) automatic-dimming mirrors will be loaded
with a range of electronic features including map lights, temperature and
compass displays and the user interface for the OnStar(R) wireless
communications system.

"We are very pleased to so closely and actively participate in General
Motors' initiative to make vehicles attractive and safe," said Russ Scaffede,
group president of Donnelly's Exterior Systems group. "This agreement with GM
demonstrates Donnelly's ability to grow through providing a higher level of
components for some of the best selling vehicles in the industry. For
example, the addition of so many electronics in the exterior mirrors
demonstrates Donnelly's ability to provide new and useful features in areas of
the vehicle that were previously overlooked."
