May 10, 2001Jeff Green On Loudon: Jeff Green, 2000 NASCAR Busch Series Champion and driver of the No. 10 Nestlé Nesquik Ford Taurus, is still searching for his first win at New Hampshire International Raceway.
"The most important factor to success at Loudon is track position," said Green. "The best way to get track position is to start up front. It will be especially important this year since Goodyear has such a great tire. Using the right pit strategy will be key and having great pit stops, which my Nesquik Racing pit crew does every week, is the best way to charge to the front."
Last Year at NHIS: Green and his Nesquik Racing team had a strong showing in last year's event at Loudon. Green ran in the top-10 most of the day, but it was the last few laps that proved the most exciting. On the final restart of the race on lap 197, Green was in the fourth position and made a charge to the front, only to be bumped out of the lead by Tim Fedewa off turn two with one lap to go. Green finished the event in second.
Remembering Adam Petty: Green pays tribute to Adam Petty, on the one year anniversary of his death.
"I'll definitely think about Adam this weekend, but as drivers, we can't let what happened affect us because we have a job to do," said Green. "I think Adam would not want us to look back at that day and remember it negatively, but rather remember the great things that made him so special. Even though he was 15 years younger than me, I looked up to him. I know I'll never forget what a special person he was and that great smile of his. He was the only person I've ever met that truly lit up a room when he entered it. I miss him in everyday life, but I really miss seeing him race in that No. 45 car."
Harold Holly First Crew Chief Win: Harold Holly, crew chief of the No. 10 Nestlé Nesquik Ford Taurus, has one win under his belt as a crew chief at Loudon. The win occurred in 1995 when Holly was working at the assistant crew chief on the NBS John Deere team driven by Chad Little. However, for that event, crew chief Gary Cogswell was sick and Holly served in that role for the first time in his NBS career. His first stint as crew chief produced his first win of his NBS career.
Equipment: Green and his Nesquik Racing team are taking a brand new car to NHIS. The Nesquik Racing team took the car to Hickory Motor Speedway for a shake down session and were pleased with the results.
