May 10, 2001LOS ANGELES, CALIF. (May 9, 2001)-After winning the 2000 U.S. F2000 National Championship by capturing five wins, ten podiums and eight pole positions and taking the checker in all 3 Oval Crown races, Aaron Justus is looking toward a bright future in auto-racing. Although not on the track this year, Justus is under contract with Forsythe until 2004.
After a winning season in 2000, Justus had his sights on the Toyota Atlantic Series. However, finding the necessary funding proved difficult and Justus was forced to wait the 2001-year out. Although under long-term contract with Forsythe Racing, Justus is required to help find support for the racing effort.
"We worked very hard over the off-season to secure a sponsor," commented Justus. "After months of searching, we had to forgo our efforts for 2001 and look ahead to the big picture."
At the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach in April, Justus met with Forsythe to discuss his future. Forsythe expressed his pleasure with Justus's performance throughout the 2000 season and is looking forward to continuing their relationship throughout the duration of the contract.
"Aaron is beyond the improving stage of his career," explained Forsythe. "No longer is it a matter of lap times, but rather finding the right partner to launch Aaron from where he is today, all the way to Champ Cars."
"Since winning the U.S. F2000 Championship, it has been my goal to continue my career with Forsythe," expressed Justus. "Having the support from someone of his stature is quite important to me. Hopefully, you will see us at the track and back to racing very soon."
With Forsythe committed to Justus's future in auto racing, Justus will continue to work with Forsythe Racing to secure adequate funding. For now, Justus remains focused on his future and further developing his relationship with the championship team.
