Headquartered in San Diego, WEBcard Technologies, Inc. is the industry
leader in the development of patented WEBcard CD(TM), WEBcard CD-R(TM) and
WEBcard DVD(TM) products. Axus Media, located in Plantation, Florida, is a
licensed agent of WEBcard Technologies. Together the companies produced
10,000 WEBcards to introduce the new Mazda 626 for Compania Colombiana
Automotriz in Colombia, South America.
"It's very evident that car buyers are responding positively to this new
marketing tool," said Ken Sully, president of WEBcard Technologies. "We are
thrilled to have been a part of Mazda's highly successful new product launch."
According to Monica Noguera, director of advertising and communications
for Mazda-Colombia, the WEBcard CDcard "helped Mazda fill a specific marketing
niche by using a product that combined 21st century technology with ease of
distribution and mobility. We were thrilled when our sales research showed us
that the WEBcard's dynamic multimedia and interactive presentation of the
vehicle helped increase sales by 30-percent -- this exceeded all our
expectations," she remarked.
The WEBcards were initially used in a marketing and promotional campaign
in two regions of Colombia (Barranquilla, Eje Cafetero), as a direct mail
piece and magazine insert in Semana, a monthly business publication. Mazda's
marketing and promotional campaign also included national magazine and
newspaper advertisements. Plans call for the insertion of an additional
50,000 WEBcards in the same publication for two larger regions of Columbia,
Bogota and Medellin, within the next two months.
Each Mazda 626 WEBcard delivers streaming video, audio, animation, text,
data tracking and Internet connectivity. The mini-CDs can carry up to eight
minutes of digital video, 64 minutes of audio, 600 full screen graphics and up
to 19,200 pages of text.
