Collins & Aikman Names Lough Vice President of Quality

    TROY, Mich.--May 9, 2001--Collins & Aikman Corporation today announced the appointment of Daniel Lough as Vice President of Quality for the Company's North American Automotive Interior Systems Group.
    In making today's announcement, Louis Gasperut, Chief Operating Officer -- North American Plastics, commented, "Lough brings many years of excellent automotive experience to Collins & Aikman. His expertise should further advance Collins & Aikman's ability to meet and exceed our customers' quality requirements and strengthen the Company's position in the marketplace."
    In this position, Lough will be responsible for quality systems improvement for all products in the North American Automotive Interior Systems group which includes plastics, accessory mats, acoustics, fabrics and floor systems. Additionally, he will be responsible for managing QS 9000 certification initiatives and will play a key roll in developing long-term relationships with Collins & Aikman's OEM and Tier 1 customers. Prior to joining Collins & Aikman, Lough was Vice President of Quality for Guardian Automotive in Warren, Mich. Lough, who holds both a bachelor's of science degree and a master's of science degree in management from National-Louis University in Evanston, Illinois, will be located at Collins & Aikman's Technical Center in Plymouth, Michigan.
