FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WOODSIDE AND TEAM WALKER MOTORSPORTS HOPE HOME TRACK EXPERIENCE BRINGS
FIRST WINSTON WEST WIN
May 8, 2001 (North Hollywood, Calif.) - Sean Woodside, driver of the #45
Team Walker/Ron's Rear Ends/NAPA Chevrolet in the NASCAR Winston West
Series, and Team Walker Motorsports have spent a lot of time this season
at Irwindale (Calif.) Speedway.
Both Woodside and Mike Walker, who co-owns the team with his mother, Donna
Walker, are running full-time Super Late Model efforts this season at
the 1/2-mile oval.
Woodside recently took over the points lead in the Saturday night program,
and collected his first win several weeks ago. He and the team hope that
the time and effort spent on the Super Late Model program at Irwindale
will give them an edge in this Saturday's Food 4 Less 250, the first of
three planned visits by the NASCAR Winston West Series there this season.
"We're having a lot of fun with our Super Late Model program," Woodside
said. "We're also getting in a lot of time on the track. That should help
us out this Saturday."
Woodside finished third in the July 2000 Southwest Series event at Irwindale.
He has also finished in the top ten twice in Winston West events, once
during his 1999 championship season and once in 2000.
He and the team are looking for their first Winston West win in the 2001
season. Perhaps the concentration of efforts this year at Irwindale will
play favorably this Saturday, and help take Team Walker Motorsports to
Victory Circle.
The Food 4 Less 250 will be televised on Fox Sports Net, date and time
to be determined.
